Institute for Emotions-Focused Therapy Denmark is delighted to present this successful introductory 4-day-workshop in emotion-focused therapy (EFT) with its founder Leslie Greenberg, Ph.D from York University.

Participants will receive in-depth skills training through a combination of brief lectures, video demonstrations, live modeling, case discussions, and supervised role-playing practice.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
is a humanistic, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that integrates person-centred, gestalt therapies and other experiential therapies, plus elements from narrative, psychodynamic and existential psychotherapy. It has particular relevance to working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. EFT has gained international recognition through the work of Les Greenberg, Laura Rice, Robert Elliott, Jeanne Watson, Rhonda Goldman, Sandra Paivio, Antonio Pascual-Leone, Ladislav Timulak, Lynn Angus and others. More than 35 years of research in the processes and outcome of EFT conducted at Universities worldwide has mapped effective emotional change processes and shown good outcome of EFT for depression, anxiety and trauma, and promising in other areas. There is a growing EFT community of researchers, partitioners, scholars, trainers and others that are organized in the International Society of Emotion Focused Therapy (ISEFT).
- an emphatic valuing and congruent relational stance
- a focus on emotion in the presences moment

The workshop will begin with an overview of EFT Emotion Theory, including basic principles and the role of emotion and emotional awareness in function and dysfunction; this will be illustrated by Focusing-oriented exercises. Participants will be trained in moment-by-moment attunement to affect in an empathetic validating relation. Differential intervention based on specific process markers will be demonstrated and trained: Systematic evocative unfolding and empty chair work.
